Brett Teplitz, MD

Brett grew up in Dix Hills, NY, on Long Island. He attended Dartmouth College, where he majored in Biology and Anthropology and met his fiancé, Shelby. During his time at Dartmouth, he served as a ski patroller and challenged health inequities on the Navajo and Penobscot Nations. He then spent a year working for the JSI Research and Training Institute, partnering with public and private organizations to strengthen health care and public health systems. He obtained his medical degree with a Distinction in Community Health from the University of Rochester, where he directed the Homeless Response Team, managed the student-run free health clinic, and founded the Global Surgery Interest Group. His research has focused on 3D modeling and simulation-based surgical education. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, tennis, cooking, and playing the ukulele.
