In fact, Lonely Planet recently named Pittsburgh one of the Top 10 cities in the world to visit, a reflection of its rich culture, architectural beauty, and forward-looking energy.
My own path has taken me around the continent and abroad, and now to Pittsburgh. Each stop has shaped my perspective, but I was drawn here by the city’s momentum and the opportunity to help lead a department poised for growth. The values that define this region—resilience, humility, and work ethic—are deeply aligned with our mission in academic medicine.
The Department of Urology is proud to stand at the forefront of the next generation of medical innovation. While our “three rivers” still wind through the hills and the US Steel Tower continues to crown the skyline, it is now our universities, medical centers, and research institutes that power the region’s economy. Our department is deeply embedded in that ecosystem.
